Throughout the year, local CCR&amp;Rs offer training opportunities that cover topics approved and required by the North Carolina Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE).
In addition, North Carolina’s three CCR&amp;R Council Management Agencies (Child Care Resources Inc., Early Years and Southwestern Child Development Commission) have received the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) approval to offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
Training and/or CEUs provided by CCR&amp;Rs are typically open to all and are delivered at your local CCR&amp;R agency or at a community site.

The NC Birth-to-Three Quality Initiative was established to improve the quality and availability of birth-to-three care and provide related training.

The North Carolina School Age Initiative helps improve the quality and availability of school age care and provide training to school-age providers across the state.

Enhanced Technical Assistance includes more intensive services that are intended to improve the quality of child care programs or support start-ups through in-depth services.
Quality improvement projects can involve extensive work to help providers increase their star ratings or achieve or maintain national accreditation. CCR&amp;R staff can also assess individual classrooms or family child care programs to help teachers and directors develop improvement plans to raise their Environment Rating Scale scores (i.e., ITERS-R/ECERS-R/SACERS/FCCERS-R).
Many CCR&amp;R agencies across the state have bilingual specialists available to support programs with non-English speaking families.
